Experience
I am a tutor with a preference for teaching math and science. I graduated from Western Michigan University with a bachelor's degree in elementary education. After graduation, I became a teacher in Arizona. I have five years of teaching experience. I have experience teaching second grade for two years, third grade for two years, and math at the fifth grade level for one year. I also gained experience as a tutor for students in math and reading at various levels. I am comfortable tutoring students in many different subject areas, including algebra, reading, phonics, grammar and mechanics, pre-algebra, English, and writing. While I am capable of tutoring students in many different subjects, I prefer teaching math at the elementary school level. I love tutoring because I enjoy being able to help students succeed academically. I also like assisting students in developing a love of learning. Students tend to find more success when they actually love the process of learning. Outside of school, I like to hike, read, and spend time with my friends.
