ExperienceI attended Saginaw Valley State University where I acquired my master's degree in education. Prior to acquiring my master's degree, I received my bachelor's degree in special ed. from Central Michigan University. Once I graduated from Saginaw Valley State University, I took on a job working at public schools in Detroit. I have worked and continue to work with students in ninth and tenth grades. I teach mathematics, particularly algebra and geometry. The majority of the students I teach are either struggling students or at risk students. I enjoy watching my students grow academically. This is something that fulfills me. To watch a student go from barely passing a mathematics class to mastering a mathematics class is simply satisfying. I enjoy teaching general mathematics. However, I would have to admit that algebra is my favorite. I tend to get a joy out of working with formulas and graphs. I also love helping my students break down longer math problems. I then work closely with them to solve the problem. When I am not tutoring or teaching, I enjoy spending quality time with my close friends and my family. I also love the cinema and getting sucked into a great interesting read.
